We have openings in the following positions:

Education Committee Chair

Term: Recommended three-year term, with no more than two consecutive terms; time commitment varies based on responsibilities: Identify topics and speakers for the Academy's Pre-conference programming. Identify educational needs of the Section’s membership. Oversee the Fall Conference & Virtual Education Subcommittees.

The Chair of the Education Committee shall be appointed by the President with advice and consent from the Board of Directors. The appointed Chair shall appoint, with approval of the Executive Committee, the other Education Committee members.

Membership Committee Chair: 

Term: Recommended three-year term, with no more than two consecutive terms; time commitment varies based on responsibilities. 

Specific Responsibilities: The Membership Chair is responsible for leading the Academy's membership team. The team tracks and monitors membership trends within the Academy; and works to incorporate awareness, recruitment, engagement, renewal, and reinstatement messages in print, electronic distribution, and the Academy's website. 

Duties:Coordinate activities of the Membership Team. Recruit, train, orient, and energize the CVP Section Membership Team. Develop and implement a Membership Development Plan for the CVP Section. Collaborate with APTA’s Membership Development Department. Track and monitor membership trends within the CVP Section. Identify target groups to initiate at least one membership drive per year to recruit, retain, or engage members. Work with component executive director to track and acknowledge new, renewing, and lapsed members by mailing monthly new member letters, re-instated post cards, and dropped member letters, respectively.  Participate in monthly CVP Section BOD conference call.  Coordinate survey of CVP Section members.

Visibility & Awareness Committee Chair: 

Term: Recommended three-year term, with no more than two consecutive terms; time commitment varies based on responsibilities. 

Duties: The Visibility and Awareness Committee is responsible for the promotion of the Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy through e-mail communications, listserv, newsletter, social media, website, merchandising, and booth representation. The Visibility and Awareness committee consists of multiple groups that work within each of the domains listed. 

PTA Council Representative: Representatives to the APTA PTA Council are PTA members selected by the Academy and confirmed annually. The council is headed by the PTA Council Steering Group. Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), Life Physical Therapist Assistant, or Retired Physical Therapist Assistant members who have been Association members in good standing for two (2) years immediately preceding that session of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Council may serve by appointment by the Board as a PTA Council Representative from the Academy.  Responsibilities: Attend the annual and special meetings of the APTA Physical Therapist Assistant Council PTA Council.  Present to the APTA Physical Therapist Assistant Council PTA Council such matters as are ordered by the Academy Board of Directors and/or Membership. Represent the Academy  on all other matters brought before the APTA Physical Therapist Assistant Council PTA Council.  This position will be considered for funding at attend the Leadership Congress in 2026.
